Gavin Smith is the Director of Dragon Capital Clean Development and from March 2008 has been a Director of Dragon Capital, based in Ho Chi Minh City. Gavin is Vice Chairman of the Eurocham Vietnam Green Growth Sector Committee. Prior to this, Gavin acted as Head of Banking at Triodos Bank in the UK. Gavin received a BA in Law from Trinity College Dublin, before joining a London accountancy and audit firm. Gavin forged a 13 year career in operational management in commercial finance, initially with Lloyds TSB.
HUYNH KIM TUOC
Director Energy Conservation Center
Huynh Kim Tuoc currently serves as Director of Energy Conservation Center of Ho Chi Minh City, an organization specializing in Energy Efficiency (EE) and Renewable Energy (RE). He has been with the organization since its establishment in 2002. Under Tuoc’s tenure, ECC has become one of the leading entities in consulting and investing in EE. Tuoc is passionate about renewable energy, especially solar power and has formed a partnership with other entrepreneurs to establish the first solar panel manufacturing facility in Vietnam. Tuoc is promoting solar power development by advising the city government on different incentive and support programs, one of them is “Piloting the PV Solar Investment Support Mechanism in Ho Chi Minh City 2015 – 2016.”
Project Director and Solar Energy Specialist, Artelia Vietnam
Nicolas Jallade graduated from the European School of Solar Engineering (ESE, Sweden) in 1999. He has over 16 years of international experience in renewable energy projects, as project manager and/or technical consultant specialized in solar energy and energy management. He first worked 4 years in a French international non-governmental organization specialized in access to energy projects in South-east Asia. Then he joined a consulting and engineering company specialized in renewable energy solutions (named SERT, which later became the renewable energy business unit of Artelia), and worked under various locations and climates on PV projects and demand-side energy management. Nicolas is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, bringing his experience in planning, consulting and design of renewable energy systems and projects at a local scale, in Vietnam and neighboring countries.
Huynh Dinh Hiep
Solar Hub Project Manager; Senior Analyst – Dragon Capital
Hiep Huynh is a Senior Analyst of Dragon Capital Clean Development and the Project Manager of Solar Hub program. Hiep has experience in renewable energy and sustainable investment, including solar photovoltaic, wind power, small hydropower, waste-heat-capture, and biomass. With knowledge on policies, regulations, and market opportunities in Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, he was a contribution author of “Assessment of the Evolution of Industry in Long An Province: Enabling Environment and Risk Assessment” – USAID Vietnam Forests and Deltas Project in 2014.
Hiep graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BSc in Public Relations and Government and was an Investor Relations Associate at Indochina Capital in Ho Chi Minh City.
Diep The Cuong
Head of Renewable Energy, Energy Conservation Center
Diep The Cuong graduated from the “Ho Chi Minh City University of Science” majoring in Applied Sciences. He has over 11 years of experience in renewable energy, focusing on solar energy designing, technical and investment consulting. Before joining ECC, Cuong was working at Physic Department, Ho Chi Minh City Institute in the solar energy research team. He also received training courses of solar energy in China. Cuong is currently the Head of Renewable Energy Department at Energy Conservation Center of HCMC.
Hoang Viet Duc
Renewable energy specialist and Civil Engineer, Artelia Vietnam
Hoang Viet Duc has graduated from a two-year Master course on Renewable Energy, Energy storage, Environment and other energy issues at University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH). The course was held in coordination with the University of Poitiers, France. Since he joined Artelia in early 2015, he has been focusing on renewable energy projects, such as solar farms, roof-top solar PV systems, hydropower plants and energy audits inside and outside Vietnam (Thailand, Maldives).
Cong Thuan Le
Energy Efficiency Specialist, Artelia Vietnam
Le Cong Thuan graduated in electrical engineering with a Master degree from the National Institute of Applied Sciences Lyon, France. Afterward, he spent one year in a company specialized in renewable energy in Paris, France, with designing role for systems producing clean electricity. He currently works at Artelia on solar energy and energy efficiency through the projects conducted in Vietnam and the region (energy audit, renewable energy and energy consulting).
